Other names for Jean were PORTER, Jane and QUIGLEY, Jane. General Notes: James Quigley died on 4 December 1861. Jean, or Jane, Porter gave notice of his death on 6 December 1861 at Glasgow. Although the details of the death certificate infer a marriage: 'married to Jane Porter' and 'Jane Quigley, widow', no statutory marriage has yet been found. Jean married Charles SANG on 11 Aug 1589.1 (Charles SANG was born 1769 or earlier.) Marriage Notes: Agnes, married August 11th, I589, Robert Forbes, Prior of Monymusk. Marriage Contract at Fintray. She was invested in her pure virginitie in the lands of Tullyriach. Patrick, the future bishop, was a witness. (Fintray Charters.) Jean next married James QUIGLEY, son of Edward QUIGLEY and Mary CRAIG, on 15 Apr 1859 in Blythswood, Glasgow, Scotland.2 (James QUIGLEY was born about 1820 in Coleraine, County Derry, Ireland 3 and died 4 December 1861 at 11.00 pm in Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, Scotland 4.). The cause of his death was typhus over 14 days. Marriage Notes: The poor relief application stated that the Rev Mr Gault married Jean and James Quigley on 15 April 1859. 2 |
