The 1901 census, taken on the night of 31 March/1 April, for Bridgeton Glasgow, recorded Margaret Russell aged 44 years as head of a household living at 29 Franklin Street. She was a French polisher by occupation, and had been born in Glasgow. With her were living her daughter Margaret, aged 21 years, recorded as born in Galston Ayrshire, and also a French Polisher by occupation, and a grand-daughter, born in Glasgow, named "Chrigton Russell".
In a 1915 British Army document "Creighton Russell McIver" is listed as a daughter of James McIver married to Margaret Russell on 8 July 1902. 2 3
