"George (Forbes), 4th of Skellater married Isabel, daughter of the deceased Charles Gordon of Balbithan (see Note below), and had three sons, George, Henry and Nathaniel."

The wife of this George Forbes of Skellater was the daughter of Charles Gordon of Blelack, not of Balbithan. See parish register record above. Their son Henry did marry into the Balbithan Gordons, but Henry and his wife were not close cousins - probably fifth cousins. ^{1 2 3}
