  General Notes:

The 1851 census recorded Bernard and his family residing at 6 Charles Street Greenock, Renfrewshire. Bernard was recorded as 44 years old and worked as a slater. He was born in Ireland.

In his death certificate of 1862 Bernard was recorded as 50 years of age and occupied as a slater. Both of his parents were already dead. ^{5 8}

The cause of his death was certified by Barclay Hendry MD.

Bernard's widow Isabella, who had been present where the death occurred, informed the registrar at Greenock of her husband's death. She made her X mark there on 14 February 1862 with John Hislop, registrar, as witness.

Bernard married Mary McILHENNIE. (Mary McILHENNIE was born about 1812.)
