General Notes: According to the baptism narrative in the OPR the father of the child was James Leith 'fermer' in Robslaw. The child, William, was baptised by Mr Robert Burnet, and one of the witnesses was James Thom. William married Jean STRACHAN, daughter of William STRACHAN farmer in Robslaw and Marjorie LEITH.1 (Jean STRACHAN was christened on 26 Jun 1721 in Old Machar Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 2.) Marriage Notes: "He (James Gordon) married Isobel, eldest daughter of William Forbes of Monymusk, by Margaret Douglas, daughter of the ninth Earl of Angus." |
