"..particular ancestor was James Murdoch, born 1843 in the glen... He emigrated South in search of work. He moved first to Kingston upon Hull, where he married an Elizabeth Tennyson and had two children. She died, so he moved to Manchester with his two children and married a widow, Harriet Bateman, with about 6 kids. They had one child together, Alex, who emigrated to the USA in 1910. James died about 1895 in Manchester, I believe ...
