On 17th October, 1639, there is a sasine in favour of James Skene de eodem, upon letters of four forms, dated 6th April, in a tenement in Aberdeen, 'ex boreali parte ly Keyhead,' in payment of 4000 merks,contained in an obligation by Alexander, Master of Forbes, to Elizabeth Forbes, his sister, 'nunc sponse dicti Jacobi Skene de eodem,' dated 20th December, 1629, and assigned by the said Elizabeth Forbes,with consent of Arthur Lord Forbes, to James Skene, on 5th July, 1637

...'The said Elspet Forbes lived a widow on the estate till the year 1695' (MS.D). By her he had two sons and one daughter."
