General Notes: William Laidlaw was the tenant in Williamslee Peebleshire. Research Notes: "WILLIAM LAIDLAW TENANT OF NETHER HORSBURGH" William married Grisel SCOTT on 28 Nov 1744 in Innerleithen, Peebleshire, Scotland.1 (Grisel SCOTT was born about 1724.) Marriage Notes: The IGI also lists 21 November 1744 at Roberton parish, Selkirkshire the parties being Grizel Scott and William Laidlaw. 1 William next married on 8 Nov 1608.2 Marriage Notes: In November, 1608, Thomas Burnet resigned his lands of Craigmyle, Pitmedden, and the Mill of Craigmyle into the hands of the Earl of Huntly, superior, in favour of his daughter, Elizabeth, and her husband, James Burnet, on their marriage. They had sasine on the 9th of the same month, reserving the liferent of half to Thomas. |
