The 1891 census recorded the family living at 31 New Street, Rutherglen. Missing from the family entry were Mary, the first Isabella, James and Agnes. ³

William married Mary HANNIGAN, daughter of William HANNAGIN and Isabella McKENNA, on 15 Jul 1864 in St Mary's RC Church, Abercromby Street, Calton, Glasgow, Scotland. (Mary HANNIGAN was born on 9 Mar 1846 in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Glasgow ⁴, christened in St John's RC Church, Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁴ and died 17 December 1909 at 2.10 pm in 3 Wardlaw Drive, Rutherglen, Glasgow, Scotland.)

William next married Mary McLAREN about Feb 1538.^{1 2} (Mary McLAREN was born about 1860.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Besides his son who was killed at Pinkie, this Alexander Irvine of Drum had two daughters-one married to the laird of Balbegno, and the other to Fraser of Muchalls, predecessor of Lord Fraser."

"Andrew (Fraser), the eldest son, styled 'of Stonywood,' had, as mentioned above, a grant from his grandfather of the principal estates in 1535, and was retoured his father's heir in Kinmundie 17 October 1549. He died before 3 July 1563. He married Margaret Irvine, 'natural and lawful' daughter of Alexander Irvine of Drum, to whom he, being under age, with consent of his curators, granted a liferent charter of Watertoun and Weltoun, 15 February 1537-38."
