  General Notes:

The 1891 census for Anderston, Glasgow, recorded Robert McFarlane as a grocer. The family were then living at 238 Stobcross street.

The 1901 census recorded the family at 224 Stobcross Street, and Robert was a 'provision merchant'. ^{3 4}

Robert married someone Jane McCORMICK, daughter of Hugh McCORMICK and Susan HARRIS, on 20 Apr 1885 in 2 Kersland Street, Partick, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Jane McCORMICK was born 5 December 1858 at 1.00 am in Govan Street, Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Scotland ^{5 6} and died on 18 Mar 1903 in 224 Stobcross Street, Glasgow, Scotland.)

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was Thomas J. Anderson of Lyn Street Church. The witnesses were William Gordon Lawrence and George McFarlane.

Robert McFarlane was a master grocer. He was a single man of 36 years of age. He lived at 18 Water Street Glasgow. His father was deceased.

Jane McCormick was 26 years of age and lived at 52 Water Street Glasgow. She was unmarried. Both of her parents were deceased.

The marriage was registered at Glasgow on 21 April 1885.

Robert next married Charles CRON after 20 May 1624.¹ (Charles CRON was born about 1810.)

  Marriage Notes:

"He (Andrew Fraser) married, first, contract 1592, Elizabeth Douglas, youngest daughter of Robert, Earl of Buchan ; secondly, Anne, daughter of Patrick, third Lord Drummond, relict of Patrick Barclay, fiar of Towie."
