PERKINS, Fanny Jane

General Notes: The 1901 census recorded that Fanny remained living with her parents as a single woman until then, and she presumably continued to do so until her marriage to William Rattray in 1903. Fanny married Mary M. McMILLAN on 29 Jun 1735 in Strathdon Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 (Mary M. McMILLAN was born about 1854 in Campbeltown parish, Argyll, Scotland.) Marriage Notes: "ALLANACH Fanny next married William RATTRAY, son of William RATTRAY and Esther CHARNLEY, between Jul and Sep 1903 in Canterbury, Kent, England. (William RATTRAY was born 4 December 1877 at 1.30 pm in 526 Rutherglen Road, Glasgow, Scotland and died 3 October 1943 at 9.30 am in 35 Netherhill Crescent, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland 2.). The cause of his death was carcinoma of the rectum. Marriage Notes: In the third quarter of 1903 a William Rattray married Fanny Jane Perkins in Canterbury, Kent, England, where she had been born in the first quarter of 1874 to James and Matilda Perkins, both natives of Kent. James Perkins was a dyer by trade, and Fanny had an older brother Albert and a younger brother Henry. |
