Mathew next married Bridget McMANUS in 1500.¹ (Bridget McMANUS was born about 1825.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Adam (Gordon), second son, first named in his brother's contract of marriage of 14 October 1474, which shows that even at that early date their marriage was arranged. He married, but at what date is not certain, Elizabeth, daughter and eventual heiress of John, eighth Earl of Sutherland, and in her right he became Earl of Sutherland."
