  General Notes:

According to the 1893 birth certificate of his daughter Ellen, William McCormick was a railway contractor's labourer by occupation. He was the informant of his daughter's birth before the registrar at Glasgow on 21 June 1893.

William died at the recorded age of 75 years. He was a factory watchman and widower of Mary Ann McKenna. His parents were deceased. 1

Ellen Thomson, of 308 Dunn Street, who was the daughter of the deceased man, gave notice of her father's death at Glasgow on 22 April 1949.


William married Mary McKENNA, daughter of Patrick McKENNA and Sarah CURRAN, on 27 Aug 1892 in Glasgow, Scotland.1 (Mary McKENNA was born on 15 Nov 1873 in Hutchesontown, Glasgow, Scotland.)


William next married William HANNAGIN, son of John HANAGAN and Rosann MULLIKIN, on 29 Apr 1707 in Logie Buchan parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2 3 (William HANNAGIN was born about 1819 in Ireland 5 and died between 1848 and 1851.)

"Major James Buchan, 11th of Auchmacoy was the son of James Buchan, 10th of Auchmacoy and Jean Fraser. He married Mary Forbes, daughter of Sir John Forbes of Craigievar, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Young. He died in 1726.

He gained the rank of Major in the Jacobite Army, under his uncle, Maj.-Gen. Thomas Buchan. He gained the rank of officer in the French Army, under King Louis XIV."
