1911 Census of Canada;
Thomas and Mary Reynolds, a married couple, were recorded living with their four children, Maggie Thomas Robert and George, in Nanaimo, British Columbia. All of them were Scots born. Thomas was 41 years old and worked as a coal miner. His wife Mary was 42 years old. he had come to canada in 1906 and she in 1907 with their children. They were Roman catholics by religion and Canadian by nationality. The children were aged 14, 11, 9 and 6 years respectively.


Thomas married Mary SMITH, daughter of Robert SMYTH and Sibby McKENDRICK, on 22 Jun 1894 in St Bridget's RC Church, Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Mary SMITH was born 19 November 1867 at 0.20 pm in Dunn's Lane, Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland 6 and died on 29 May 1956 in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest was Peter H. Terken CC. The witnesses were Robert Smith and Annie Smith.

The bridegroom was an unmarried man of 25 years of age who was a coal miner. He lived at Gartshore Square Drumpark Bargeddie.

The bride was unmarried and aged 25 years. She was a powerloom weaver who lived at Gilmour's Land Baillieston.

The marriage was registered at Baillieston on 23 June 1894. 1

"Gight was twice married : (1) before 1597 to Isobell, the daughter of Sir Patrick Wood of Bonnyton the name of his lands in Udny and in Forfarshire [...]

Mr. Mair, in his Presbytery Records of Ellon (p. 8), notes that Gight's first wife (Isobell Wood) bore him at least five children before 1597. The Balbithan MS. says that the first wife bore Gight two sons and three daughters, and that his second wife bore him a son and a daughter. " (page 98)

"This was the third alliance of the Gight Gordons with Forfarshire women, for Patrick's father, William, V. of Gight, married an Ochterlony, while his brother, George, VI. of Gight, married Isobell Wood of the House of Bonnyton." (page 61)
