The 1841 census for Monkton and Prestwick recorded Mary George living with her husband and large family in 'Prestwick proper'. Her age was noted as being in the 40-44 years group and her birthplace was Ayrshire.

Mary had already died when her son Thomas died in 1866. ^{1 3}

Mary married William GEORGE, son of Thomas GEORGE and Hannah ORR, on 19 Jun 1818 in Monkton & Prestwick, Ayrshire, Scotland. (William GEORGE was born in 1799 in Ireland ^{1 2} and died before 18 Apr 1866.)
