James married Robert GORDON, son of John GORDON in Corncatrach and Elspet RALPH.2 (Robert GORDON was christened on 25 Aug 1732 in Gartly Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland 3.)

  Marriage Notes:

".... in 1511, he (Duncan the 4th laird) granted a charter, confirmed by King James, 20th July, 1511, to William Strachan, his son and heir, reserving a life interest to the said Duncan, and to Margaret Lundy, his wife, her widow's tierce .... (This grant to William was no doubt made on the marriage of the latter to Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Patrick Gordon of Fulzemont and Johnisleys...)

William Strachan of Glenkindie, son of Duncan, married Elizabeth Gordon, daughter of Patrick Gordon of Fulzemont and Johnisleys - see Records of Aboyne, p.210 - where it is stated that they had issue Patrick, who marrried Bessie, sister of Robert Stuart of Laithers, with issue, William, who married Margaret Forbes of Brux, and Agnes, wife of John Lumsden of Cushny."

from The Strachans of Glenkindie

"Elizabeth, who was wife of Patrick Strachan of Glenkindie, and had Patrick, who married Bessie, sister of Robert Stuart of Laithers, with issue : William, married to Margaret Forbes of Brux; and Agnes, wife of John Lumsden of Cushny, by whom she had : John, Arthur and Bessie (MS. Pedigree)."

from Records of Aboyne Note:

Referring to the naming of the laird of Glenkindie, above, as 'Patrick', Allardyce comments:

"This is evidently a mistake. From a Retour amongst Glenkindie papers, as well as other references, it is clear there were not two Patricks in succession." 2 4
