Lionel Lynass was the 'grandson, present' who gave notice, in a very flourishing handwriting, to the registrar at Govan in 1879 of the death of his grandfather, John. 2


Lionel married Mr LYNASS, son of John LYNASS and Sarah CAUGHIE, on 28 Aug 1868 in Lyndoch Street, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland.3 (Mr LYNASS was born about 1840.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. The minister was Mr James Stark. The witnesses were Peter McLaren and Susan McLaren.

John McLaren, a widower was 58 years of age and of 9 Cartsburn Street, Greenock. He was a boilermaker by trade. His parents were both deceased.

Isabella Sandlins, who made her X mark, was 30 years old and single. She was of the same address as the groom. Only her father's name was included in the parents' column.

The marriage was registered at Greenock on 31 August 1868, the registrar being H. MacMillan.
