LYNESS, Edward ¹

   Cause of his death was bruising and extensive effusions of blood about chest over 10 days.

   Other names for Edward were LENNIS, Edward, LINESS, Edward,² LINNS, Edward ⁴ and LYONS, Edward.

  General Notes:

In 1881 the census recorded Edward Liness as the head of a household in Dalgliesh Street, Ferry Port on Craig, Fife. The household consisted of Edward and his wife, five of their children, and two grandchildren. Edward was recorded as aged 55 years and born in Ireland. He worked as a general labourer.

Edward's death certificate of 1905 recorded him as a seaman, married to Mary Duncan. He was recorded as aged 75 years. Both of his parents were deceased.

Edward was a seaman, according to his wife's death certificate in 1908. ^{2 3 5}

William Liness, Edward's son, who had been present, gave notice before David White, registrar, at Ferry Port on Craig on 5 January 1905.

The cause of her death was multiple sarcoma over 4 months.

Edward next married James DAVIDSON, son of Alexander DAVIDSON and Mary GLENNIE, after 11 May 1743. (James DAVIDSON was christened on 14 Apr 1805 in Glenbucket Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and died after 5 May 1863.)
