William died before his wife Margaret and he was recorded in her death certificate of 1931 as a labourer.

William married Margaret Barr TWEEDLY, daughter of Thomas Nicholson TWEEDLEY and Margaret Duncan PARKHILL, in 1880 in Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland. (Margaret Barr TWEEDLY was born on 24 June 1851, baptised on 14 December 1851 in Neilston, Renfrewshire, Scotland and died in September 1931 in 39 Kelburn Street, Barrhead, Renfrewshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was senility, arterio-sclerosis and cerebral haemorrhage.
