   Cause of his death was disease of the heart sustained for years.

  General Notes:

James was recorded as aged 23 when he died. He was described as a day labourer. He had been born in County Monaghan, Ireland and had been 8 years in Glasgow. His father was dead and his mother still alive. No mention was made of a wife. 1 2

  Medical Notes:

Archibald Montgomerie MD, who saw the deceased man on March 28, 1855, certified the cause of death.

Robert McIndoe, undertaker, certified that James was buried in Dalbeth cemetery, Glasgow.

The registrar at Glasgow, William Paterson, was notified of the death on March 29 1855 by Thomas Quigly, probably brother to the deceased. (see note)

NOTE
Thomas Quigly signed his name, and after it, the description of relationship with the deceased, is what looks like the word "breathern", as far as can be made out. 2
