  General Notes:

Susan McKinnan (sic) was recorded by the 1861 census for Greenock West in Renfrewshire living at 41 Hamilton Street at the home of her parents. She had been born in Ireland and was recorded as 26 years of age. As well as Susan and her parents, three others were noted as living in the household: Mary McKinnan, Susan's sister, Patrick Varley (sic) aged 10 months, grandson of the head of the household - and presumably Susan's son - and a visitor called James Quigley, a 24 years old sugarhouse labourer.

When Susan Vallely was recorded by the 1871 census for Greenock she was living with her husband and three children, aged from 10 years to 10 months, at 8 Manse Lane in the town. She had been born in Ireland and was recorded as 34 years of age.

When Susan Vallely died in 1879 her death certificate recorded her as the widow of Patrick Vallely, general labourer. Her recorded age at death was 38 years. Both of her parents were dead. ^{1 2 3}

Susan married Patrick VALLELY. (Patrick VALLELY was born about 1814 in Ireland ² and died before 30 September 1879 ².)
