  General Notes:

Ann was a witness at the wedding of Hugh Grant and Mary Callaghan on 12 June 1845 at St Margaret's RC Chapel in Airdrie. The other witness was James Callaghan, and Fr Alex Smith celebrated the sacrament.

In the 1851 census a lodger living at 4 Loudon Street Airdrie was recorded as Ann Vally. She was aged 20 years, unmarried, and worked as a handsewer. She was born in 'Armaugh Kilmore', or what in very poor handwriting looks like this. 2 3


Ann married John SMITH on 9 June 1851 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (John SMITH was born about 1825.)


  Marriage Notes:

Fr J. Buckley was the priest who married John and Anne. The witnesses were James McConvell and Mary Hardy.

The earlier date recorded for this marriage in the IGI was probably the banns of marriage. 1
