Thomas Quigley, who made his X mark, was an unmarried man who worked as a coal miner. He was aged 22 years and his usual residence was noted as Southstone Rigg, New Monkland parish. Both of his parents were deceased.

Mary Reynolds was a paper milll worker aged 22 years. She was of Netherton parish, New Kilpatrick. She made her X mark. Her parents were both deceased.

The marriage was registered on 2 January 1865 at New Kilpatrick, James Wills being the signing registrar.
