   Cause of his death was hepatitis with dropsy.2

  General Notes:

In his son William John's birth certificate of 1864, William John senior was recorded as a labourer, aged 25 years old and born in County Donegal.

In his son Charles Edward's birth certificate, William John was described as a quarryman aged 37 years and born In County Donegal, Ireland.

William married Jane RUSSELL on 26 January 1863 in Lauriston Street RC Chapel, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 (Jane RUSSELL was born about 1841 in County Tyrone, Ireland.)


  Marriage Notes:

William Quigley was a bachelor and mason's labourer, aged 23 years, of Hunter's Close, Grassmarket, Edinburgh. He made his X mark. His parents were living.

Jane Russell was an unmarried woman, a domestic servant aged 22 years, of the same address as the groom. Her mother was deceased. Jane signed the register.

The priest who married the couple was George Bampton.
The witnesses were Michael Dollan and James Fallan.

The marriage was registered on 29 January 1863 at Edinburgh, Robert Dick being the signing registrar.
