  General Notes:

The 1841 census for the parish of Mochrum in Wigtownshire recorded Henry Linax (sic) and (presumably) his wife and family, all surnamed Linax, living at Landberick. Apart from Henry and his wife Agness, there were recorded five children of 10 years and under. Henry's age was noted as being in the 40-44 years age group. By occupation he was a thatcher, and his birthplace was Ireland.

Henry's age at death was recorded as 70 years. His date of death was recorded as 13 August 1858 'early on morning of 14th'. He was married, but the death certificate did not say to whom. No parental information was given in his death certificate. ^{5 7}

James McCormick, surgeon, made a post mortem examination on the deceased's corpse in order to certify the cause of death.

Henry's death was registered on the information of the Procurator Fiscal, George G. Block.

It was registered at Glasserton on 30 August 1858, John Steel being registrar.

Henry's burial was certified by William Callie, joiner.

Henry next married Mary McDOWALL on 8 January 1851 in Kirkcowan, Wigtownshire, Scotland.¹ (Mary McDOWALL was born about 1810 and died 5 April 1887 at 2.00 pm in Portwilliam, Mochrum Parish, Wigtownshire, Scotland ⁸.). The cause of her death was pneumonia for 6 days.
