QUIGLEY, William ¹

   Cause of his death was cerebral haemorrhage over 3 months.

  General Notes:

The 1861 census recorded William Quigley, the head of the household, and his family living at 417 Garscube Road, Glasgow. William was recorded there as a labourer in an iron foundry, confirmed by the marriage certificate of his daughter Catherine in 1861. William was recorded as aged 40 years and as having been born in Ireland.

In his death certificate of 1885, William's age was recorded as 78 years. He was described as having been an iron foundry labourer and widower of Margaret Kane. His father's name was given only as ' '-------- Quigley' . Both of Williams parents were then deceased. ^{1 2 3}

William Drysdale LRCP(E) certified the cause of death.

Michael McHugh, who had beeb present where the death occurred and was son in law of the deceased, gave notice of his death at Glasgow on 16 February 1885, before William Buchanan, registrar. Mr McHugh's addres was recorded as 1 Belfort Street Maryhill.

William married Margaret KEAN. (Margaret KEAN was born about 1819 in Ireland ² and died in 1878 in Anderston, Glasgow, Scotland ^{4 5}.)
