NISBET, Francis Flesher
Another name for Francis was NISBIT, Francis. General Notes: The 1841 census for Hardgate Street, Haddington, recorded a Francis Nisbet aged in the 70-74 years age range, whose occupation was 'flesher'. He had been born in East Lothian. He was recorded living with James Nisbet, aged in the 30-34 years range and a skinner journeyman by occupation, and William, aged in the 25-29 years range and a tailor journeyman by occupation. From sources other than this census, we know that these two young men were sons by a second wife, Elizabeth Gordon. Francis married Euphemia THOMSON on 18 October 1800 in Canongate, Edinburgh, Scotland. (Euphemia THOMSON was born about 1775 and died between 1802 and 1806.) Francis next married Elizabeth GORDON on 9 November 1806 in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland. (Elizabeth GORDON was born about 1775.) |
