In the 1851 census Bridget was recorded living at 72 High Street in the city of Glasgow. She was aged 60 years and was the head of the household. She was unmarried and a lodging house keeper. Her brother Owen and his son and two daughters were living there too.

The 1861 census for Glasgow recorded Bridget Lynas living with her two brothers, John and owen, and two nephews and two nieces, at 94 Gallowgate in the Calton district. She was the "housekeeper". She was recorded as 69 years of age and had been born in Ireland. ^{1 3}
