   Other names for Daniel were TWEEDLIE, Daniel and TWIGLEY, Daniel.4

  General Notes:

In his son Andrew's birth certificate of 1855, Daniel Quigley was recorded as a 'marble labourer'. He was then aged 40 years, the birth certificate states, and had been born in County Donegal. He and his wife Mary had married at Glasgow in 1846.

In the marriage certificate of his daughter Jane in 1861 Daniel Quigley was recorded as a journeyman marble cutter.

In 1867 Daniel Quigley's wife Mary died. Daniel Quigley, now a widower and recorded as a labourer in her death certificate, gave notice of his wife's death before Dan Sinclair, registrar, at Glasgow on 19 August 1867 and made his X mark.

Daniel Quigley was a marblecutter's labourer, according to the marriage certificate of his daughter Rosan in 1871.

Daniel Twigley was a marble cutter according to the marriage certificate of his son John in 1871.

Daniel Quigley was married to Ann Halliday when he died in 1875. His death certificate recorded his age as 54 years and his occupation as 'marble cutter's labourer'. Both of his parents were deceased.

Turnbull Smith MD certified the causes of death.

Ann Quigley, widow of the deceased and who had been present where his death occurred, notified the registrar, James M. Thomson, of the death on 15 February 1875 at Glasgow and made her X mark.


Daniel married Cecilia CUNNINGHAM. (Cecilia CUNNINGHAM was born about 1815 and died before 8 May 1846.)


Daniel next married Mary ROBERTSON on 8 May 1846 in St Andrew's RC Chapel, Great Clyde Street, Glasgow, Scotland.1 2 (Mary ROBERTSON was born on 11 June 1824 in Glasgow, Scotland 11 and died 17 August 1867 at 6.30 pm in 41 New Vennel, Glasgow, Scotland 5 9.). The cause of her death was peritonitis (puerperal) over several days.


Daniel next married Ann HALLIDAY on 18 June 1868 in Central District, Glasgow, Scotland. (Ann HALLIDAY was born about 1833 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland 12 and died after 1875.)
