This surname is said to derive from the Gaelic glas meaning greyish-green (as in Glas-gow), wan or pale. As a group, people with this name are supposedly indigenous to the old kingdom of Dalriada, in western Scotland, but are found all over in modern times.

Mary married John McKENRICK. (John McKENRICK was born about 1700.)
