The 1881 census for New Monkland recorded Patrick, his wife and children living in Airdrie. Patrick was aged 35 years. All were recorded as born in Airdrie.


Patrick married Margaret BRYCE, daughter of John BRYCE and Sarah FERRIE, on 27 February 1869 in St Margaret's RC Chapel, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Margaret BRYCE was born about 1844 in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage between Patrick and Margaret was solemnised after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest who presided at the ceremony was James McIntosh and the witnesses were Edward Bryce and Mary Boylon.

Patrick McConville made his X mark. He was a coal miner of 23 years, a bachelor, whose address was noted as Dicks Land, Broomknoll Street, Airdrie. His father was dead.

Margaret Bryce also made her X mark. She was a housekeeper, unmarried, aged 25 years, and of the same address as Patrick. Her parents were living.

The marriage was registered on 2 March 1869 at Airdrie, the registrar being William Whyte.
