General Notes: In Griffiths Valuation of Ireland 1848-1864, in the Valuation of Tenements documents for Northern Ireland, a Frederick Kane is found in the parish of Macosquin, Croagh townland, in County Derry, residing there in 1859. Frederick Kane is listed as an occupier, and the immediate lessor is Thomas Richardson. The description of the tenement is 'House. Office and Land'. The area is just over 58 acres, and further information is given of the valuation of land and property. Macosquin is about two miles from Coleraine on the road to Dublin, situated on the River Bann.
