This census recorded a young man William Fulton, a cotton handloom weaver, aged in the 20-24 years age group, living with an old lady Margaret Caldwell, aged 80 years, a thread winder, in the parish of Beith, at '63 Newton'. No relationships are noted for them, but they are probably grandmother and grandson. William was born in Ayrshire; Margaret was born in Scotland but not Ayrshire. ³

Margaret married William FULTON on 26 August 1797 in Beith, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹ (William FULTON was born about 1770.)
