The marriage was a Roman Catholic one. The priest was Patrick Hanly of St Patrick's, Glasgow. The witnesses were John Lynass and Sarah Ann Lynass.

Bernard gave his address as Smithfield, Belfast. He was aged 28 years and had not been married before. He was a hardware merchant. His father, John, was dead and his mother still alive.

Rosannah was aged 20 years, also unmarried. The marriage took place in her home, at 114 Broomielaw, Glasgow. No occupation was given. Her parents were both alive. ²
