General Notes: In 1855 when his son John's birth was registered Daniel was named as the father and his age recorded as 40 years. He had been born in Belfast. He and his wife were married in Stranraer in 1850. Research Notes: 1855 was the first year of statutory registration in Scotland and significantly more information was given in the records of that year than would be the case in later years. Daniel married Jane LYNAS, daughter of John LYNASS and Sarah CAUGHIE, on 15 September 1850 in Stranraer, Wigtownshire, Scotland. (Jane LYNAS was born about 1829 in Belfast, County Antrim, Ireland,2 died 24 February 1856 at 9.00 am in 410 Argyle Street, Glasgow, Scotland 4 and was buried in Dalbeth Cemetery, Glasgow, Scotland.). The cause of her death was phtisis over several months. |
