  General Notes:

William and Jessie Strachan, recorded as aged 77 and 57 years respectively, were recorded by the 1871 census for Fyvie parish Aberdeenshire. The head of the household was their son, William aged 33 years, whose wife Catherine aged 23 years, and daughters Jessie aged 1 year and Mary Catherine aged 1 month, also resided there. A brother of the younger William, John Strachan, aged 23 years, was also included in the family entry. 3


William married Janet ROY on 28 October 1834 in Fyvie Parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 (Janet ROY was born about 1813 and died on 7 April 1890.)


  Marriage Notes:

26 October 1834 is also recorded in the parish of Insch, probably as banns of marriage. 1
