When Margaret Skinner died in 1867, her death certificate recorded her as the wife of John Strachan, farmer, and aged 84 years. Both of her parents were deceased.

James Burr, physician and surgeon, certified the causes of death.

John Strachan, Margaret's son who was present where her death occurred, gave notice of his mother's death before the registrar, Alex. Bremner, at Fyvie, on 2 January 1868.

Margaret married John STRACHAN, son of James STRACHAN and Margaret MERSON, on 1 September 1821 in Alvah Parish, Banffshire, Scotland. (John STRACHAN was baptised on 17 June 1784 in Grange parish, Banffshire, Scotland and died on 6 July 1872.)
