The 1881 census recorded John Thomson as head of the household residing at High Street, Edzell, in Forfarshire. John was a postmaster by occupation. He was recorded as 40 years of age and had been born in Kinneff, Kincardineshire. His wife, Jane and their two chldren James and Martha lived in the household too.

John Thomson was the informant of the death of his father in law, John Quigley, in 1887. 1 2 3
