  General Notes:

Mary Twealey [sic] was recorded by the 1851 census for Liverpool, living with her husband and three children of 5 years of age and under. She was 24 years old and had been born in Liverpool.

Note: at the same address of 31 Clement Street where Robert and Mary lived were two other Households, one whose head was a John Lloyd in his 20s and another where John, aged 56 years, and Ann, aged 46 years, Lloyd lived.

In 1881 the census for Liverpool recorded Mary Tweedly, a widow, aged 53 years living at 60 Cranmer St with her children Mary, John and Hannah.

The 1891 census recorded a 63 year old woman Mary Tweedly living at 130 Latimer Street with two grandsons, 9 year old Joshua and 13 year old Robert Tweedly, as well as two boarders named Spriggs.

In 1901 Mary Tweedley was still living at 130 Latimer Street, Liverpool, recorded as 75 years of age. 2 5 6 7


Mary married Robert QUIGLEY Sawyer, son of William QUIGLEY and Margaret SLATER, on 18 May 1845 in St Nicholas Church, Liverpool, England.1 (Robert QUIGLEY Sawyer was born about 1826 in Scotland and died between January and March 1876 in Liverpool, England 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was solemnised after banns according to the rites and forms of the Established Church of England by Thos. MacGill, curate. The witnesses were John Rice and Mary O'Neill.

Robert Quigley was a bachelor, under 21 years of age, and was a sawyer by trade. He resided in Wright Street, Liverpool.

Mary Lloyd lived in Arley Street, Liverpool. She was a single woman and under 21 years of age.

Both bride and groom made their X mark. 1
