Robert Lundie built the North Range of Balgonie Castle, while the Tower had been built earlier by the Sibbalds. King James IV of Scots visited on 20th August 1496.
Sir Robert Sibbald in his History notes that 'Robert de Lundin' got the estate of Balgony but retained his own surname. He was the second son of his father.
Robert married Helena SIBBALD Heiress of Balgonie, daughter of Andrew SIBBALD of Balgony, Sheriff of Fife and Unknown. (Helena SIBBALD Heiress of Balgonie was born about 1460.)
