Another name for William was McCREA, William.3
In 1878 William was living with his wife, with no family, at 516 John Street in the east end of Glasgow. He was a labourer. 4
William married Helen QUIGLEY, daughter of Michael QUIGLEY and Agnes O'BRIEN, on 30 December 1861 in Wallacetown, St Quivox Parish, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Helen QUIGLEY was born on 17 March 1830 in Ayr, Ayrshire, Scotland 5 and was baptised on 21 March 1830 in St Margaret's RC Church, Ayr, Scotland 6.)
In the marriage certificate Helen's parents were recorded as Michael Quiglay and Helen Bryan deceased- which sounds like a combination of Helen McWhinnie and Agnes Bryson. Possibly one was her natural mother and the other raised her.
