In 1907 John Twigley was the informant of the death of his son Daniel, aged 16 years. John's occupation was recorded in the death certificate as 'mason'.

John married Mary CAMPBELL on 2 Jun 1871 in Main Street, Largs, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (Mary CAMPBELL was born about 1852 in Glasgow, Scotland 2 3 and died after 10 Apr 1914 4.)
The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Free Church of Scotland. Charles Watson, minister of the Free Church at Largs, officiated. The witnesses were Mary Dick and Robert Elliott.

The marriage certificate recorded John's mother as 'Ellen Twigley MS Robertson'. John's father was married to Mary Robertson when John was a small child, John's own mother being deceased.
