Robert Smith, the child's father, was the informant of the birth of Cornelius on the same day that his son was born. The birth certificate records that Robert was a Coalminer. Noted on the family copy of the birth certificate in another hand are the facts that the child was baptised on 5 February 1910, three days after his birth, at Baillieston, by E. O'Connor RCC (Roman Catholic Clergyman). Family information records that Annie McColl was his sponsor.

Robert Smith's son, Neil Smith, of 127 Robertson Terrace Baillieston gave notice of his father's death at the County Hospital before the registrar at Cleland on 8 February 1946. 2 3
